Merton partners gather for a special Internet of Things workshop
15th February 2020
On 28 January, organisations from across the public and private sectors joined experts from Digital Catapult to discuss how innovative uses of technology and data can improve life in Merton.
With industries as varied as social housing, further education, technology and hotel and catering all in attendance the session, hosted by Sound Lounge, provided a unique opportunity to work collaboratively and explore new ideas.
Mixing large and small organisations into groups helped participants understand the different challenges faced within the borough in accessing and using new technologies.
Attendees were particularly interested in the climate emergency and discussed how Internet of Things (IoT) technology could be used to not only benefit their own work, but also to reduce waste, help with traffic issues and make parking more efficient.
The discussion will help inform the pilot IoT schemes taken forward in Merton as part of the InnOvaTe project.
